We have been witnessing for ten years a return of the speeches of "collapse", which has multiple faces whose two ends are the survivalist scenario inspired by films like Mad Max, and at antipodes we have a vision of a more cooperative society as presented by the books of Pablo Servigne.

Finally a word that speaks true, at the height of the situation. A tangible and realistic word, not like the oxymoron “sustainable development”, the reformist “transition” or even the insufficient “decrease”. Unfortunately, if we observe the concrete effects of these accounts of "collapse", if we analyze their contents, it is clear that they bring a lot of confusion and that they often reduce the possibilities more than they open them. .

If the collapsologists have the merit of having increased the visibility of the climatic and ecological stakes, the political consequences which ensue from it are however questionable: it is the thesis advanced by Jérémie Cravatte in a booklet which he will detail. He will also focus on the next financial crisis as a real issue, at a time when the largest shareholders are protecting their assets from future bankruptcies.
