Explanation of the main challenges of software asset management. The first part of the workshop aims to explain the basics of software asset management, following the methodology proposed by IAITAM (International Association of IT Asset Managers).

These management bases are developed in response to the main challenges of software asset management:

- Compliance, compliance with the general conditions of license contracts;

- License optimization, buy just the right amount

- The main rules and procedures to reduce risks and costs

- Audit management

- The software provided "as a Service" in the Cloud, advantages and interests, the main points of attention when signing a contract.

These challenges will be illustrated by concrete examples, experienced in companies, illustrating different situations and different software publishers. Based on these examples, participants will be invited to share their own experiences.

The conclusion of the workshop will be pragmatic, what approach should be implemented to optimize the management of software assets?
