Course outline

The objective of this course is to understand the key roles, duties, and liabilities of directors, as regards the investment management function of investment funds with a focus on oversight of the delegated portfolio management function as well as regards the risk management of an investment funds with a focus on oversight of the risk management function at the level of the appointed IFM. Key definitions such as risk appetite, risk profile document and also the three lines of defense shall be outlined

This course will explore not only the legal and regulatory aspects but will also provide participants with best practices and practical advice. The program is designed to be highly interactive and is facilitated by Luxembourg experts.

This course is designed for directors (executive and non-executive), who want to improve their knowledge of the role and responsibilities of the director as regards the investment management function and how to effectively perform their oversight of delegates involved in the function, their oversight involved in risk management as well as a good understanding what is meant by a holistic risk management approach.
