On 18 September 2019, the employers' organization UEL informed the unions and the government that it wishes to leave the three-party bargaining on the Standing Committee on Labor and Employment (CPTE). This boycott of one of the most important three-party social negotiating bodies, between the government, the unions and the employers, constitutes a scandalous attack on the "Luxembourg social model" which, for more than 40 years, has been invaluable for Luxembourg's economic and social development and has ensured social peace, which is so important for our country. This attack by the employers' organization against our social model constitutes a true declaration of war against the legal rights of negotiation of representative unions at the national level. This backtracking is also an affront to the government program which provides for the necessary modernization of labor law and a revaluation of social dialogue.

Hence this urgent appeal to all workers in the private sector and the public service. Defend yourself against the attack on the management of our interests at work, our rights and freedoms of union bargaining and our social gains. Against the scandalous attack of employers on the rights and freedoms of union bargaining!
