This conference is part of the AI4Health conference series organized by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine of the University of Luxembourg.

Abstract: Interest in the field of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) research has increased dramatically in recent years. The main reason is the need for systems which, beyond being efficient, are also able to describe how a certain result has been achieved and to present it in a holistic way in relation to the target users. The field of digital health is a pioneering scenario in which XAI strategies have been designed and implemented. In this talk, I will review the steps of this paradigm and discuss the role of semantic technologies. Next, I will present how such strategies have been applied to the field of digital health, and what challenges lie ahead in the near future.
