Introduction
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method that accelerates the processing of complaints related to shock events or repetitive painful situations experienced in the past and/or in current life. More than twenty controlled studies show that this method can lead to a rapid desensitization of traumatic memories, coupled with a cognitive restructuring and a significant reduction in symptoms (among other anxieties, intrusive thoughts, flashbacks and nightmares). To date, the number of controlled studies on EMDR is greater than any other method used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. (PTSD)
EMDR is an interactive and standardized approach. It is not a therapeutic orientation in itself, but lends itself to rapid integration into the work of psychotherapists.
Objective
The objective of this training is to allow participants to become familiar with enough possibilities of applications of EMDR for comfortable and effective use in their own practice.
EMDR level 1 training is the first step in the initial EMDR training course.
Level 1 of the EMDR training is devoted to the acquisition of the theoretical bases. A significant part of the training is given in the form of structured practical exercises and role-playing exercises.
Methodology
The methodology used is lively, interactive, based on readings, live demonstrations, videos, exercises in small groups. The presence of internationally renowned facilitators allows quality supervision and monitoring. A balance between theoretical presentations, exercises and exercises in small groups is established in order to practice the different phases of the EMDR protocol while leaving space for the exchange of clinical experiences.
