The pensioned population continues to grow. This is an observation made unanimously in all European countries. Luxembourg is no exception in this area.
Statutory pension schemes (under the 1st pillar of pensions) are therefore under pressure. They have never been designed to meet such a situation. As a result, the need to supplement the statutory pension with supplementary pension schemes, particularly those of occupational origin (2nd pillar), is more important than ever. This matter is however complex and constantly evolving.
Today, the government has decided to adapt the current legal framework (law of 8 June 1999) as from 1 January 2018 and to extend, at the same time, this second pillar to the self-employed.
That is why Kluwer Training has set up, with a company specialized in this matter, ESOFAC Luxembourg, a training that, in half a day, will give you an overall portrait of the legal, social and tax aspects related to these supplementary pensions. 2nd pillar, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
