Verification of the functioning of the service organs and safety devices
Putting the machine in the out of service configuration
Routine maintenance by the driver (cleanliness of the cabin and controls, maintenance and storage of slings, etc.)

Position taking:
Verification of the documents present on the machine (Periodic general checks, manufacturer's instructions, nameplate)
Detection of a possible anomaly or a defect (frame, cable, hook, trolley, muffle, ...)
Verification of the functioning of the service components and safety devices (trolley, lifting mechanism, load limiter, limit switch, safety latch, audible warning device, emergency stop, ...)
Suitability of the machine:
Suitability of the machine according to the work to be done (lifting capacity, environment, choice of lifting gear according to the loads to be handled, working height and offset, ...)
Familiarization with the driving position:
Reactions of the machine (reaction and stopping time)
How orders work
Mastery of the swing:
Control of the swing during the different movements (translation, direction and oscillation)
