Institutional and regulatory framework
About this seminar
In March 2019, the European Parliament and the Member States reached a political agreement to reform the current system of financial supervision with a view to strengthening macro-prudential and micro-prudential oversight at EU level.
This seminar explains the legal system governing the regulation and supervision of financial services before and after the reform and clarifies the division of competences between the national and the European level and the implementation of laws at both levels.
Participants will discover the respective roles and powers of the various actors involved in decision-making in financial services, in particular the tasks of the EU supervisory authorities. On the basis of practical examples, participants will have the opportunity to discuss concrete actions undertaken by the ESAs, their early achievements as well as clear lessons for improvement.
