Never in its young history has the European Union experienced so many threats or uncertainties. Confronted with Brexit, which sign the first defection of one of its Member States, it is now undermined by the rise of populism, the withdrawal of sovereignty and the battering of the supporters of illiberal democracy.
Europe therefore has no choice but to reinvent itself to survive. How to make it more efficient, more transparent, more united and above all more democratic? This is the huge challenge facing future MEPs.
