About this course
This two-day course is for AWS Sysops administrators who want to find out how Azure is different from AWS and how it is administered. The main workshop topics are Azure Administration, Azure Networking, Azure Compute, Azure Storage and Azure Governance. This workshop combines lecture, practical exercises and discussion / examination. During the workshop, students will build an end-to-end architecture that presents the main features discussed in Cours. Audience Profile: This course is an AWS Sysops Associate Administrator or equivalent. This person has one to two years experience in AWS deployment, management, and operations. Students taking this course want to learn how Azure is different from AWS and how Azure is administered. Students may also be interested in the AZ-103 Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification Exam or the AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals Exam.
Module 1: Azure Administration In this module, you will learn about the basic tools and concepts needed to administer Azure. Topics include: Resource Manager, Resource Groups, Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Azure Templates, Cloud Shell, Azure Marketplace, and Azure PowerShell.
Module 2: Azure Network In this module you will learn about Azure network features. Topics include: Azure Regions, Virtual Networks and Subnets, IP Addressing, Network Security Groups, Peering Between Virtual Networks, Virtual Network Connections, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and Network Watcher.
Module 3: Azure Calculator This module will teach you about configuring and monitoring Azure VMs. Topics include: Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Creation, Virtual Machine Sizes, Virtual Machine Disks, Availability Zones, Availability Sets, Windows VM Connections, Linux VM Connections, Azure Monitor, and Azure Alerts.
Module 4: Azure StorageIn This module, you 'Discover the features and implementation of Azure Storage. Topics include: storage accounts, blob storage, blob performance levels, file shares, file synchronization, data area, content distribution network, shared access signatures, and service endpoints. Module 5: Azure Identity In this module you will learn about Azure Identity solutions. Topics include: Azure Domains, Role Based Access Control, Azure Active Directory, Multifactor Authentication, Azure AD Identity Protection, and Azure Policy.
AWS Sysops
This course includes experience with operating systems, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, storage structures, identity solutions and networking. Specifically, students should have: a working knowledge of building CLI commands, including the use of help pages to determine appropriate parameters and command structure. Understanding virtual network concepts, naming system domain names (DNS), virtual private networks (VPNs), gateway firewalls, and encryption technologies. Understanding virtual machines, their use, and configuration options such as CPU performance and drives. Understand virtual storage concepts, such as storage accounts, blobs, file shares, and disk types. Understand governance concepts, including role-based access control, identity management, and identity protection.
