The law on the annual accounts of companies is essentially based on the amended law of 19 December 2002 on The commercial and companies register as well as the Accounting and annual accounts of the company. However, in order to fully understand the structure of Luxembourg accounting law, it is also important to refer to the provisions of the Commercial Code as well as to the various Grand-Ducal regulations (eg: Standardized accounting plan, accounting package) without forgetting the sectoral accounting provisions applicable to certain companies. In the end, accounting legislation often appears difficult to access for novices who do not have the keys to understanding it.
Goals
At the end of the training, The participant will be able to: identify the sources of Luxembourg accounting law: accounting laws, regulations and doctrine and know how to navigate through them understand the structure and logic of the legislation relating to companies' annual accounts category (small, medium, large) to which the company belongs and its implications on accounting obligations apply the main provisions relating to the preparation of annual accounts apprehend the provisions relating to the control of annual accounts and the responsibility of the bodies of the company integrate the procedures for filing and publicizing financial data depending on whether or not the company is subject to the Standard Accounting Plan (PCN) anticipating future developments in Luxembourg accounting law
